
Introduction
The two campuses operate under the strategic positioning of “One Brand, Two Campuses”, leveraging their respective disciplinary and regional advantages. By utilising an international talent development mechanism and implementing projects focused on talent training, the fund aims to attract and cultivate talents for basic research and applications in areas of national importance, particularly in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Support Directions
Include but not limited to: joint professorial appointments, Joint Postdoctoral Fellow Supervision, Joint PhD Supervision, Double Major 2+2 Programmes, and joint undergraduate research projects, etc.
Category and Amount
- University-level strategic projects (including Double Major 2+2 Programmes): no specific funding limit
- Faculties/Schools, Colleges, other University-level units serving the entire University: 1.2 million
- Collaborative undergraduate and graduate programmes between the two campuses, as well as related activities: 0.6 million
- Research, teaching, or administrative staff as individuals: 0.3 million
Application Requirements
- For collaborative research projects between the two campuses, applications for joint PhD or postdoctoral supervision should be submitted to General R&D Projects for consideration. The Young Scholar Projects does not accept such applications.
- Each PI can host at most three projects funded by this fund at the same time.
