Introduction

Platform fund will support Joint Laboratory/Centre and a series of conferences and workshops jointly hosted by CUHK and CUHK(SZ).

  Joint Laboratory/Centre Joint Conferences and Workshops
Support Directions Targeting at national, provincial or municipal-level Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao joint scientific research platform, the Collaboration Fund will serve as a seed fund. Priority fields and directions include, but not limited to, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Economics, Finance, and Logistics, and Life and Health Science. The Fund will support a series of conferences and workshops jointly organised by the two campuses.
Funding Method and Amount The Fund will support up to two joint laboratories/centres, providing a maximum funding of RMB 6 million per lab/centre. Funds will be disbursed annually based on performance evaluation results, such as joint publications, patents, external funding, and commercialization. The funding support period is up to 3 years, after which the joint laboratory/centre is expected to be self-sustainable through external funding. The Fund plans to support up to two conferences and eight workshops each year. The funding amount will not exceed RMB 300,000 for a conference and RMB 50,000 for a workshop.

Application Form

Applications must include:
• Platform Development Application Form (Annex 1)
• Supporting documentation of joint research projects, publications, patents, and graduate student training
• Maximum three representative achievements per category (see Tables 1-5, Annex 1)

Applicants shall submit the Application Form for Conferences and Workshops (Annex 2).

Application Procedure

Each team for a joint laboratory/centre shall determine one campus as the main site and submit one application through this campus.

Applicants shall submit the application materials (PDF version) to the Secretariat of Platform Development by email.

Each conference or workshop shall submit only one application through the primary organising campus.

Applications (PDF version) can be submitted to the Secretariat of Platform Development by email, throughout the year.

Application Deadline 5:00 PM on 12 December, 2024 The fund can be applied throughout the year
