Introduction
Funding for “General R&D Projects” aims to expand research cooperation and cultivate collaborative teams between CUHK and CUHK(SZ), in order to achieve innovative and high-level research outcomes at the international academic frontiers and lay the foundation for undertaking major national strategic tasks.
Support Directions
To focus on supporting research projects in key areas including Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Economics, Finance, and Logistics, Medicine and Life Sciences, Aerospace and Geoinformatics, New Materials, New Energy, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, etc that are relevant to the development of strategic emerging industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Funding Amount and Duration
The funding amount will be:
(A) Each approved project receives between 1 to 3 million
(B) Support for PDFs and PhD students upon request
The project duration should be approximately 1–2 years (Up to 24 months).
Application Requirements
Assistant Professor or above to be a Principal Investigator (PI). One from CUHK and one from CUHK(SZ).
The two PIs will collaborate to achieve common research objectives, and determine the team members, roles, and tasks, based on their expertise.
