Diversity & Inclusion, Cultural Remix: CUHK students participate in the CUHK(SZ) International Day 2026

To foster campus internationalisation and cross-cultural understanding, CUHK(SZ) held its grand “International Day 2026” on 10 April, 2026, and around 40 CUHK students were warmly invited to join the celebration.

With global flavours from over 40 countries, four immersive experience zones, mash-up dance performances, and a diverse stage showcase, the event brought people together from every corner of the world.

That day, the campus turned into a wonderland without borders. Food stalls lined the walkways, offering authentic tastes from everywhere. Students wandered around with plates in hand, their taste buds travelling across cultures — an experience that felt more vivid than any map. Beyond the food, there were hands-on cultural crafts from different countries: Japanese koinobori windsocks, Thai Loy Krathong leaf folding, and even mahjong art.

As night fell, the stage came alive with an ever-changing flow of dance and song. From traditional to modern, from rhythm to melody, every performance told a story of its homeland. Then the DJ took over, dropping a beat that got everyone moving. There were no more borders, no more divisions — just people swaying together to the music, as if the distance between worlds had melted away.

The International Day concluded under a starry sky. May this connection that spans mountains and oceans live on.
