Professor Tang Sze-wing, Associate Head, Dr. Tony M H Chan, College Secretary, and six student representatives of United College, CUHK joined the High Table Dinner of Diligentia College, CUHK(SZ) on 15 November, 2023. The students also represented the College to join the C5 Youth Student Leader Summit, organised by Diligentia College where they shared their experiences with other student leaders from Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Chongqing University, and the University of Macao, as well as visited different companies in Shenzhen.
14 student representatives who joined the Summit visited United College on 18 November, 2023. The event was a key component of the C5 Young Student Leaders Summit, which aims to deepen communication and exchange among students and nurture young leaders. The visiting group was warmly welcomed by Professor Stephen H.S. Wong, College Head, Professor Tang Sze-wing, Associate College Head, and Dr. Tony M.H. Chan, College Secretary. The College management also expressed great anticipation for more collaboration and exchange opportunities in the future.
Student representatives enjoyed lunch and experienced Hong Kong’s dining culture at the College Student Canteen. Afterwards, Ms. Chan Pui-yan (IBBA/2), President of the Resident Association of Chan Chun Ha Hostel, and Ms. Choi Tsz-ching (CMBI/2), President of the Resident Association of Bethlehem Hall, led the visiting group on a tour of their respective hostels. In addition, the students also visited the Wu Chung Library and Tien Chi Microcomputer Laboratory. The visiting group then proceeded to the University Mall and concluded at CUHK History Gallery, where they learned about the founding history and traditions of CUHK.
This visit gave our visitors a comprehensive insight into College life, facilities, and environment at United College. They also expressed significant interest in the daily lives and the non-formal education of United College. Dormitory cultures and lifestyles of respective universities were shared among student representatives.
