CUHK staff visit CUHK(SZ): forging a new chapter of collaboration

On 16 January, 2026, around 50 staff members from CUHK visited CUHK(SZ) to take part in the CUHK–CUHK(SZ) Staff Mutual Campus Day, embarking on a rewarding and enriching day of in-depth exchange.

The programme began with a group photo at the Terrace Staircase, followed by a welcome briefing at the Administration Building. Representatives from CUHK(SZ) provided an overview of the University’s history, key development milestones, and its close and ongoing collaboration with CUHK.

Participants then visited the University Library, where they experienced first-hand the strong academic atmosphere and modern facilities of the CUHK(SZ) campus. At lunchtime, the group gathered at Lixuan Canteen, where colleagues from both campuses enjoyed a meal together while sharing experiences and exchanging ideas in a relaxed setting, actively exploring possibilities for future cross-campus collaboration.

The afternoon programme continued with a visit to the School of Music. The visit was warmly hosted by Professor Chan Wing-wah, Associate Dean (Education) of CUHK(SZ)’s School of Music and a renowned composer and conductor, together with colleagues from the School of Music. Professor Chan introduced the history and facilities of the School and delighted participants with an organ performance of the Chung Chi College anthem. The resonant music filled the concert hall, captivating the audience and earning enthusiastic applause.

The group then proceeded to Eighth College, where they were received by Professor Yuan Fang, Master of Eighth College, and her team. Participants were divided into two groups to tour the College’s facilities. Thoughtfully prepared souvenirs were also presented, allowing participants to leave with fond memories of the visit.

To conclude the day, participants either strolled through the campus or travelled by golf cart, passing the scenic Fairy Lake. Surrounded by tranquil landscapes, the visit came to a graceful and memorable close.

The Mutual Campus Day not only allowed CUHK colleagues to experience the distinctive character of the CUHK(SZ) campus, but also provided valuable opportunities for staff from both universities to strengthen professional connections and friendships, laying a solid foundation for broader and deeper collaboration in the future.
