CUHK Campuses Collaboration Office (CCCO) hosted its monthly gathering for 2+2 CDMP students on 21 March, 2025, highlighted by an engaging Design Thinking Workshop with LEGO Play. Led by Mr. Jonathan Wong, Project Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE), the session provided students with innovative approaches to problem-solving and creativity.

Under the theme “Design Thinking,” students participated in the interactive challenge, “Build a Tomorrowland for Young People.” The workshop unfolded in three structured segments:

First, students received a thorough introduction to design thinking theory and concepts from Mr. Wong. Through an interactive presentation, he explained the five-step process—Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.

Next, students collaborated in groups, creatively using LEGO bricks to bring their ideas to life. Each team visualised and constructed their interpretation of an ideal future environment specifically tailored for young people.

Finally, the workshop concluded with presentations and awards. Teams enthusiastically presented their LEGO models, sharing the insights and strategic thinking behind their designs. One team was recognised as the winner and awarded prizes, which they thoughtfully shared among all participants, embodying the collaborative spirit fostered throughout the workshop.

Participants expressed great appreciation for the hands-on, interactive nature of the session, noting how effectively it integrated theoretical concepts with practical activities. The event notably enhanced students’ skills in teamwork, creativity, and communication.
